Notational Velocity

Notational Velocity is a very simply note taking program with a very unique approach:

When you want to create a new note, you start by entering the headline in the upper field. While you do that, you already get a list of already existing notes that might match your topic. Yes, the first field acts as search field at the same time. So you can decide if it’s maybe not necessary do add a new note.

When none of the existing notes makes the new one obsolete, you enter the text of your new note in the third field.

Well, that’s it. As I said, very simple. You do not have the possibility to add pictures or organize your notes in any other way. Notational Velocity has its approach, and maybe that’s exactly what you’re looking for. Especially since it’s a free note taking software! Right – Notational Velocity is an open source project.

It’s possible to sync your notes via Dropbox, and also to SimpleNote on the iPhone.
